The position of Public Officer is only applicable to organisations, ie: Centres that are separately incorporated.

The Public Officer must be eighteen years or older and is appointed by the management committee, not elected by the members.

The rights of the management committee or the members cannot be overridden by the Public Officer.

The Public Officer represents the Centre and has interaction responsibilities with the Registrar of Incorporated Associations.
